Minister

Reverend Susan Gumm is passionate about life.  When you meet her you just see how she reflects her exuberance and love back to you.  Her goal is to inspire each individual to live to their fullest potential while recognizing the Divine that is waiting to unfold within them.

Rev Susan grew up in Detroit, Michigan and was transferred to Colorado in 1973.  Colorado is the home she loves and her source of inspiration and creativity.  Susan found Unity in 1988 and declared, “I am HOME!”.  Throughout her journey to answer the call of ministry, she spent many years as a Licensed Unity Teacher, coach, speaker and Associate Minister.   She also worked many years in the financial industry and owned her own mortgage company.  Yet Spirit continued to call her forth in her own evolution of service.  She came to Unity on the Avenue Spiritual Center in 2013 and became an Ordained Unity Minister in 2017.

Her educational journey started at Davenport University in Michigan, and when reaching Colorado and hearing a higher calling, she attended and graduated from Regis University with a degree in Religious Studies, then went on to complete Master’s of Theology Degree from Iliff School of Theology.  She graduated with an emphasis on late antiquity and early church history.

Rev Susan deepest desire is to foster the awakening of each individual’s unique gifts and talents so that they may use their passions to be the eyes, words, and hands of God in our world. Knowing challenges and heartbreak are a part of living, she believes that each day should be celebrated as our gift of evolution towards spiritual maturity.
