This class is based on the book, “Spiral Dynamics: Mastering Values, Leadership, and Change,” by Don Beck and Christopher C. Cowan. (You do not need to purchase the book to attend the class.)
Spiral Dynamics is an evolutionary model that documents various eras in human history and the forces that were at work in our society. “Spiral Dynamics is giving rise to a profound clarity of insight into the sweeping patterns of human psychologies, beliefs, and values that are, often unconsciously, guiding our choices and shaping our very identities,” writes Beck.
This class will discuss:
The eight stages of social development.
The values, economic, and political models described by each stage.
How this knowledge allows us to appreciate and tolerate our differences, and live in oneness.
Understanding the Spiral at work in our individual lives and in our relationships.
