New Member Class | Foundations of Unity
August 21st, 28th, September 4th & 11th
6:00 - 7:30 p.m.
If you would like to become a member of Unity on the Avenue—or would just like to learn more about the basics of Unity—plan to attend the Foundations of Unity class. This class will be held on August 21; August 28; September 4; and September 11, 2025, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. It will be facilitated by Rev. Dr. Wanda Bedinghaus.
We invite you to embark on a spiritual journey that unveils the core principles and beliefs of Unity. We will explore the profound teachings of Jesus, presented in a practical format that resonates with our daily lives. This class is designed not only to enrich your understanding, but also to empower you with practical tools for transformation. As you align with the universal laws that govern all things, you will discover a pathway to living a more successful and fulfilling life.
Upon completion of the class, you will not only gain valuable insights and tools, but also open the door to becoming a valued member of our Unity on the Avenue community. We are excited to celebrate your commitment in a special installation ceremony this fall, where you will be welcomed into a family that shares your passion for Unity and spiritual growth. Unity World Day of Prayer
At UOTA
Friday, September 12th
6:00 - 7:00 p.m.
The 32nd annual Unity World Day of Prayer will be held globally, in person at Unity Village and via Zoom, from Wednesday, September 11, to Thursday, September 12. On September 11 at 6:00 p.m. Mountain Time, go online to immerse yourself in prayer, music, and contemplation.
This year’s theme is Be Still and Know. We are affirming together: In the stillness, I awaken to Divine Wisdom.

On Friday, September 12, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., Unity on the Avenue invites all to come together for a holy hour of prayer and meditation. Embrace the power of connection, unity, and healing.
Our dedicated Prayer Chaplains will hold in prayer all requests from the community. Please submit your request on the blue forms in the sanctuary, fold them, and place them in the Prayer Box.
Master Sound Therapist Rebecca Abraxas will guide us into a realm of deep meditation. Let the soothing sounds of bowls, chimes, and drums wash over you, creating a sacred atmosphere of tranquility and reflection.
Together, we will connect with Divine Spirit in the stillness, allowing our hearts to open and Divine Wisdom to fill our thoughts. Join us in this sacred space as we collectively nurture hope, love, and healing.
All are welcome! Attendees are invited to make a love offering to Unity on the Avenue.

Healing Life’s Losses Workshop
Tuesday, September 16th
5:30 - 7:30 p.m.
This workshop is open to all UOTA members and friends, as well as the general community.
The schedule is as follows:
5:30-6:00 p.m. Finger sandwiches, and vegetable and fruit trays will be served in Fellowship Hall.
6:00-6:45 p.m. Participants will view the documentary film, “Voices of Grief, Honoring the Sacred Journey.”
6:45-7:30 p.m. Grief counselor Sue Farnsworth will process the video with the participants and present next steps for healing.
About Sue Farnsworth
Sue Farnsworth is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for the state of Colorado. She received her undergraduate degree in social work from University of California-Berkeley and her master’s in social work from Metropolitan State University of Denver. She is currently the manager of the Bereavement and Volunteer Departments for the Denver Hospice.
Cost: $20 preregistration; $25 at the door. 50% of the profit will go for UOTA building maintenance; 50% will go to Denver Hospice, earmarked for Grief Groups for people needing healing.

Gong Bath Meditation

Come join us and bathe in the sound and vibration of the Paiste Earth Gong and other sacred sound instruments in a glorious range of vibrational frequencies.
Be immersed into the vibrations and resonance of sound instruments allowing the sound to “wash” over you. These sessions can have a profound effect on many levels of your being and consciousness including the physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional as well as facilitating the potential for reaching Theta and Delta states from our waking Beta state.
Due to the broad spectrum of frequencies created by these instruments and the resonance created through them, you are able to hear sounds through your ears and also able to sense through your skin and skeletal system. This may even affect your being on a cellular level.
This will be an amazing way to rejuvenate your soul!
What to bring:
- Wear comfortable clothing you can relax in.
- Feel free to bring a yoga mat, blanket, and bolster pillow for personal comfort during the sound meditation.
- Bring your own water.
Gregg Wilkins
Gregg Wilkins is a sound practitioner/sonoalchemist who has worked with the healing power of vibration & sound for over 30 years. He creates this sonoalchemy by using the Paiste Earth gong and traditional sacred sound instruments.
Gregg attended the Chicago Musical College and was a Theory and Composition major as well as a percussionist. He also attended the State Institute of Sonology in the Netherlands where he studied the psychological and physiological affects of sound on the body as well as acoustics and electroacoustics. He is also a Reiki Master and a Deeksha Blessing Giver.
